In my last post, the photo of the tulip arrangement is placed on a vintage tablecloth. So pretty- both the flowers and the cloth. I have many- both the flowers and the cloth.
I collect many things- vintage jadeite kitchenware, small boxes, art, shoes, Halloween items, Xmas decorations, silver, china, shoes, Amish quilts, mixing bowls, tablecloths, books, linens, shoes. I’ve even been known to collect a bit of real estate (but that’s another story).
I thought I’d share a photo of some of my favorite vintage 1940’s-1960’s heavy cotton tablecloths. When I started buying them, they were cheap- maybe $10- $12 a piece. They were plentiful. They were colorful and they looked ‘loved’. My mother would call it ‘used’, but I adored them anyways- stains and all.
I’ve had many a grown-up luncheon with these lovelies under the finger sandwiches. My daughter used to have a Valentines Day party for her little friends (in the cold and cloudy February weather of Northeast Ohio) with a happy pink and white print set with my grandmother’s white and lilac china. Everyone felt better. The new stains were an added bonus.
