Water Lilies

I have never had the opportunity to grow (and enjoy) water lilies. Yes, we have had a pond (or two) but I have always found them too expensive, too fleeting, never able to over-winter- for the price. And yet.. I look. I dream. I covet.
Yesterday I was at American Aquatics (on Elysian Fields) to purchase more bundles of water grass (to help clean the liquid environment for our comets Larry, Curly, and Moe) and their new inventory of water lilies assaulted me.
Unable to resist, I have purchased, and deposited, our first water lily to the courtyard fountain.
I am pleased to introduce a new hybrid from Mike Giles of West Virginia- the thus, un-named, ubiquitous, and thoroughly unknown variety called… (no name). But it’s beautiful.

Wish me luck.
