Eating my way through neighborhood joints has become a bit of a hobby (albeit, a hobby that shows up on the thighs- and in this blog- one good, one not-so-good).
In the Riverbend neighborhood, off Carrolton, near the river, past Uptown (whew!) there’s a great place that’s a kind of hipster hangout- uber simple, super fresh food, delicious twists on classic melt-downs, and great coffee and tea (of course).
After the back-n-forth between garden centers, Pilate’s, the grocer, an oil change, doggy walks at the local animal shelter, text’s from my grown children asking how to boil water, calls from my mother (she doesn’t text)”Hi Honey! It’s your Mom”(no kidding), editing my endless A Pleasant House Cook Book, meetings with bakers and bankers and bloggers….
