One of the best things about living in a southern clime is that the weather is pretty decent all year long.
Enter: our annual January escapade with Caption Andy, the bayou coonass sailor of a six-seat airboat with a V8 six-cylinder engine repurposed from his dead daddy’s 1973 Chevy that sat on the front lawn just long enough for Andy’s wife to threaten a serious private dismemberment because it “don’t look like decent folks with a brain in their backside” lived on the lot, what with the other abandoned boat parts, crawfish kettle, turkey deep-fryer, rusted child’s swing set, and assorted holiday displays.
     Go figure.
Ben and Andy like to ‘talk’ fishin’ and huntin’ and them government peoples gettin’ in the way of makin’ a livin’ (BP and the Army Corp of Engineers seem to come up in a Cajun tirade of little understood language every year- but the hand gestures are very discernible).
Chase wants to drive the boat (when has he not wanted to drive any and everything?)
Tyler’s usually only had an hour of sleep because he’s not great at ‘pacing himself’ through the night before, clubbing Frenchman’s Street, later, over paying for a cab back to Magazine where he left a drunken $20 tip for a single beer at Miss Mae’s “someone robbed me last night” (Oh Boy), and then bitching about the lack of breakfast selections (there are none, and he’s been here before) available at the swamp shack where working toilets are a gift from the gods- but it’s an engine that makes a lot of noise (Guys).
Bryn likes to take photographs, and have her photograph taken (the better to add to the Facebook mythology when your holding an albino alligator, don’t ya know), and I just want (sigh) I just want…

Not a good photo traveling at 35mph-
but a gorgeous Crane

Again- not a good pic (speed), but
seing a cemetery in nowhere’s land is ALWAYS
interesting.

And the mysterious, enigmatic, world travelled persona continues to grow.

Be there- or be square (or wet, as the case may be).
