Purple Rain

     I love color. Who doesn’t?
My entire Kingdom is full-up with color. In fact, I insist on it- for all the Castle parties, boat rides with the swans, and tables laid groaning from fresh plucked abundance.
But I have always been adverse to the color purple.
It makes my skin crawl (like the time that pesky dragon tried to lick me), and reminds me of bruises (I’ve had to defend the Kingdom a time or two), and makes me look O-L-D (all my gowns are red).
Once, I painted a stateroom a soft lavender and all of my visiting dignitaries had nightmares (Not good when you’re attempting to craft a trade agreement.)
     So, no purple for me.
However, the other day, on a carriage ride through the serfdom, I saw purple in a whole new light- or rain.
It was the only color that saluted through the mist.
     Maybe I should revisit the…

  • clark - There are few colors farther away from the persona I project to the world than purple, so naturally I gravitated to this Post on your front page. At present I am into the challenge of doing the things that are *not* natural for me. Fun. (This is not to say that I am trying to, say, force myself to wear something purple! Anyone can force themselves into change…at least on a temporary basis. I am experimenting with the idea of altering how I relate to something so that I would, somehow, naturally wear purple (for an example).
    Fun Post.
