OK. Let’s get the puns out of the way:
“The Mistake on the Lake.”
” River on Fire.”
“Only city that professional sports teams hit away from.”
But did you know that it has the most trees per square foot than any other city in the country?
That it has some of the BEST suburban public schools in the nation?
Some of the best suburbs- period.
That the Shah’s of the Middle Eastern realm get their yearly medical check-ups at the Cleveland Clinic (I know this because once my mother redecorated the private suite- and by suite I mean floors of suites).
That the autumn’s are spectacular and the Cleveland Orchestra is considered the finest in the world?
Well it gets better.
Four little words: Cleveland Museum of Art.
On my recent visit home, I stopped by to see the multimillion dollar renovation, and to say I was impressed would be an understatement.
More like bowled over with amazing new spaces and intimate galleries.
And, I had forgotten how many ‘Masters’ CMA has in their permanent collection (really too many to list, let alone photograph).
And to think I grew-up in this marvelous space, surrounded by all of this, seeing Rembrandt’s and Renoir’s, Copley’s and Koon’s as everyday works of art! Believing everyone had this in their backyard.
Just a little girl attending Warhol’s parties…
