Second Act

My sister decided a few years ago to move.
Property taxes had increased and she needed a change of scenery.
She went- she didn’t like- and she has returned.
    Home.
But with a brand new attitude and an amazing new sultry take on her digs.
It really is kinda awesome, and smart, and fabulous.
And she said I could seat you for a look at her…

Second Act.

Can you believe the depth she got from her wall color choice?

Still moving things around-
but you get a sense of her style

She’s always been so good
at placing art and
mixing styles.

You GO GIRL!

  • Vashti Q-Vega - Wow! I love it! Can she come over and make-over my house? Haha! The colors are so earthy and alluring. Great pictures. 😀ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - She has a great eye and feel for color. And she accessorizes so beautifully. I’ll have to check to see if she’s available!ReplyCancel

  • Norma Beishir - That looks incredible! If she’s not an interior decorator, she should be!ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - She is NOT a decorator, but our mother is- the apple falling…and all that! Thanks for stopping by Norma!ReplyCancel

  • Tammy - Love it. It’s so individual, comfy, cozy and classy. Good for her! I LOVE living what we feel. It takes us time to get there…but when we do .. Shazam! It’s awesome!ReplyCancel

  • onepairofshoesatatime - All stunning. I particularly love the picture in the last picture. The wall colours are amazing. I love deep reds but it is so hard to get it right … and she did.ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - She’s got an amazing eye for art and artists. The one you like is a Sam Scott (who was a costume/set designer at the Cleveland Playhouse). I believe he painted that on a piece of brown paper- like a grocery bag!ReplyCancel

  • Krisztina Williams - Oh I love it!! I am drooling over that big trunk under the TV!ReplyCancel

  • A Pleasant House - I think that may be the trunk my mother had in our living room growing up. It would have the words ‘Liverpool’ hand painted on the front. Wait… how the hell did she get that?ReplyCancel

  • Cyndi Calhoun - Dang. I need her to come to my house. Stat. LOL.ReplyCancel

  • Jenny Lynn - WOW, I love the wall color. She is amazing at placing art on the wall, too. What a great room.ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - I know. I can’t wait for her to see all of these comments! Thanks for stopping by Jenny! Now I’m on my way to you!!ReplyCancel

  • Sue - I keep blinking my eyes. Best in the blogoshere. Now the paint on the walls; looks pink by the lighted lamp in the first pix, but then muted purple-pink-grey up above the lamp. How does that happen? Are the walls painted with a glaze mix? Love the art, clock and gimme that black and gold mirror for my own kingdom. This can be an excerpt post on my blog with a click over to here if you want.ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - What’s the Best in the Blogoshere? My Blog? You’re right! As for the walls- they are actually a MOCHA color that seems to refract all sorts of color. It is not a glaze, but she did use a high gloss. We’d (I’d) LOVE to excerpt this on your site. I’m hopping over now.ReplyCancel

  • House Crazy Sarah - it looks amazing! So New Orleans!ReplyCancel

  • William Kendall - That’s a massive chest for the television stand…ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - It’s a massive TV and she doesn’t like to hide them. She says they are part of life and it’s her home God Damn It! Eloquent- don’t you think?ReplyCancel
