Doors to the Soul

If you love architecture (and I do) and you lovelovelove old houses (and I better because I’ve owned enough of them), then you have probably looked lovingly at your sweet gal and seen her wink back at you.

Look again.

Because buildings have personality, and age, and argue with their inhabitants, and scold, and love, and keep us safe.

They have heart.

And, even though the saying goes that ‘eyes’ are windows to our souls, I believe I can make a case for doors being the portal to the souls of my castles…

All Hail The Queen

  • Shannon Bradley-Colleary - These doors remind me of the Garden District in New Orleans. Full of mystery and ghosts and fecund glamour. I’m not sure what fecund glamour means, but it just seems right.ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - And you would be RIGHT! The Garden District- my home (I’m fanning myself and batting my eyes). I’m not sure what ‘fecund’ means either- but I like it. It seems bollingly appropriate. (I just made that one up). Again-seems right some how.ReplyCancel
