Six Global Mistakes & How They Should Be Solved

Or, Six World-Class Fuck-ups from the School of

Human- your choice.

Six Glocal Mistakes & How To Solve ThemPINIMAGE

I own a television and subscribe to a newspaper.

I have eyes- and ears, even an opinion.

Imagine that.

I read. I think. I shake my head- a lot.

I touch, I feel, I can smell a rat.

There are many.

The world is full-up in rat shit.

Let’s shovel, shall we?

The Saga of Oscar Pistorius

A gifted but deeply narcissistic spoiled brat that likes to play with guns.

There is more to becoming a great athlete then breaking records. There’s something called

‘Role Modeling’ that should always factor into the equation. The world needs to stop

worshipping false idols.

North Korea; and other short tales of little men with small

Fair trade (what a hoot) practices stringently exercised on China. When this starts to

interfere with the Chinese economy and their in-your-face monetary policies, we leverage for

a cessation of their economic support of Kim the Younger.

Or, we wait for wanton syphilis to ravage the little asshole’s asshole.

The Mystery of Flight 370

Let’s start with the obvious: The plane flew on it’s scheduled course, for a bit, then dropped

off of radar (Of course, it would have been helpful if someone had actually been looking at

the radar…), but that’s it.

That’s all we know.

Anything else is pure conjecture.

Given the size of global ocean coverage, it can be strongly assumed to be in pieces at the

bottom of the sea, with no working ‘pinger’, and any remaining surface pieces strewn about

like bits of pollen grains (which are very small, btw).

Even Wolf Blitzer, with all of his incessant sensationalizing, won’t be able to find one- though

I suspect, he will keep on trying.

Hillary Clinton (And how her choices may come back to bite her in her

abundant derriere).

Make no mistake about this- she is a political animal.

Without her there would be no Bill.

And, that’s the rub.

Bill. (And all the rubbing he’s done).

If only she would have not stood by her man.

If only she would have done what most of us regular folk would have done- leave the bastard.

But nooooo. She had hitched her star to that wagon and was in for a dollar/in for a dime.

Used the classic politico excuse that it was a ‘family matter’.

I wonder if she realizes what kind of respect she’d have garnered by saying ‘No’, ‘You can’t

take advantage of me like that.”

I might have even voted for her.

The Legalization of Pot.

For the love of God, if you need grass to relieve the physical side effects of chemotherapy, or

have glaucoma, whateva– here’s a dime bag. I’ll roll your doobie, but do we really want to add

to the dice game that is Driving Under the Influence? So now, the idiot next door, is not only

drunk, but stoned, and behind the wheel?

The Nigerian Situation

First off: the hashtag #bringbackourgirls will do nothing. But, it looks cool. Like your deeply

committed to solving the situation.

But your not, ’cause unless you get on a plane and strap on a machete, and venture into the

jungle- you’re just posing, but I digress…

The first thing I noticed was the outrage that the kidnapping of these girls was new. It is not.

Secondly, I heard a mainstream media report that purported that the leader, Abubakar

Shekau is a very intelligent man with a photographic memory.

There is no such thing as a photographic memory, and it would be termed Eidetic, which is

the early ability many humans have to organize information. It is usually visual (so that a

baby can recognize her mother’s face) and only can be recalled quickly and only for several

minutes- not years later. It must be continually reinforced and becomes an ability that is no

longer active by early adolescence, at the latest.

So let’s not attempt to craft a sense of genius here. It’s very insulting. He’s a deeply flawed

animal, one that, if I were President of these United States, I would be tracking down like a

starving hound dog catching wind of a meat wagon.

Here’s my scenerio: If I were in a position of real power, global power, aircraft at my

disposal kind of power, I would invade that God forsaken country, without anyone’s

permission (screw the UN- they’re worthless. Screw the Nigerian government- they’re

castrated), boots on the ground, satelites fired up, drones hovering, guns loaded, bad boys

sacked-up, scorch and burn kind of invasion.

I would do everything within my power to rescue as many of these young woman as possible

and promptly return them to their parents, THEN, I would leave. No need for a Thank You. I

am not staying behind to help you get your shit together. I am LEAVING.

I would not ask for permission, nor would I care if the World had a shit-fit.

In. Out.

Yes, I’d be impeached.

Yes, I’d have to resign.

Yet, I can’t think of a better reason to break every damn rule in the book…

because the book only works if everyone is reading it.

  • Carol Cassara - Thought provoking commentary today.

  • Carollynn Hammersmith - Every post I love you a little more. ReplyCancel

    • Cheryl - I love you a little more for just showing up- speaking of which, I JUST got back home, so I’m a little late to the REPLY part of this. My mom has no internet.ReplyCancel

  • Chloe Jeffreys - I must agree about the hashtag thing. As though these thugs read and are influenced by Twitter!! These sorts of men only respect one thing: force. Brute force. They live by a code that might makes right. They have the might to take these girls and therefore what they are doing is right. Only someone with the fortitude to be stronger than them will get their attention. Where’s John Wayne when you need him? He wouldn’t put up with this shit.ReplyCancel

    • Cheryl - What was that old song that mentioned just that- where’s John Wayne when you need him?ReplyCancel

  • Claudia Schmidt - I agree that just posting about the Nigerian girls does nothing, it’s so frustrating to me that people think that somehow makes a difference. Very disturbing and very frustrating but this is a great post.ReplyCancel

    • Cheryl - Yea- High & Drive. Where are the Mothers Against High Driving?ReplyCancel

  • Mari Collier - A fine rant. Alas, nothing will change. You will not believe how many years I have been reading about the mess in Africa. It never changes. Except for legalizing marijuana that now they discover the baked goodies can kill people. Oh joy, another implement of death. ReplyCancel

  • Anonymous - Well said, couldn’t agree more.ReplyCancel

  • Anonymous - OMG!!! Cheryl, you are a goddess! If I had not seen your name at the top, i would have sworn I wrote this!!
You are an inspiration! Can you run for office please!!! Every word here is truth! We sit on our hands here, ignore horrid things going on in Africa, and when media reveals……..oh, we are on it! Where the hell is Oprah with all her influence and money on this???? Where the hell is Blii Gates with all his “humanitarian” efforts and money?? You are right! these people only understand force, power, and a machete!!!! Somebody’s baby girl will suffer inhuman events because of the apathy of people in powerful places who could bring change.ReplyCancel
