A funny thing happened on my way to middle age: I reinvented my groove (and I don’t even know Stella).
I think most women (and probably some men- maybe- perhaps- occasionally) can relate to this.
As a woman you are constantly juggling more then one hat: Eternal Girl, Grown Woman, Absolute Ruler, Benevolent Mother, Wise Partner, Social Activist, Rule Breaker, Sex Kitten. You get the picture.
Of course, everyone must go through the obvious stages of life; Childhood, teenage survival, faking it into ‘adulthood’, finding a job, a partner, some reliable friends, and there’s also coming to terms with the fact that you’re not going to become whatever the hell you jotted down in your seventh grade dream journal…
…Or can you?
Women have an uncanny ability to be patient.
And quiet risk takers.
And open to change.
They also have a unique set of skills and all of the wisdom that comes with having to juggle an infinite amount of ‘balls’ in the air at once.
In fact, we are so skilled at ‘balls’ we hit a few out of the park on occasion.
Enter: This ‘thing’ we call the Internet and add to IT this ‘format’ we call a Blog and throw THAT around a bit on this mechanism that’s called ‘social networking’ and then (whew) chance into a few people actually reading your shizz and THEN someone calls and asks you if you’d like to be a part of a published anthology along side some of the best and most brilliant writers of your same kind, and you say ‘Hell Yes’ because you’re not an idiot and a simple ‘yes’ is ever more effective when a good ‘Hell’ accompanies it, and then this WARRIOR WOMAN (I’m looking at you Elaine Ambrose) goes out and makes Feisty After 45 #1 on Amazon’s Best Seller list & #1 on Amazon Kindle & paperback!
Holy Crap which is my way of saying Amen.
So, (Let’s catch our breath
pour another glass of wine. There. That’s better. Alright. Again…) So, you can imagine there’s a moral to this right?
Why yes there is.
Don’t give up, give in, or go out without a bang, and never, I mean NEVER be afraid to be…
At any age.
Or Holy Crap.
I like Holy Crap.
