Or, Six World-Class Fuck-ups from the School of Human- your choice.   I own a television and subscribe to a newspaper.   I have eyes- and ears, even an opinion.   Imagine that.   I read. I think. I shake my head- a lot.   I touch, I feel, I can smell a rat. […]

  • Carollynn Hammersmith - Every post I love you a little more. ReplyCancel

    • Cheryl - I love you a little more for just showing up- speaking of which, I JUST got back home, so I’m a little late to the REPLY part of this. My mom has no internet.ReplyCancel

  • Chloe Jeffreys - I must agree about the hashtag thing. As though these thugs read and are influenced by Twitter!! These sorts of men only respect one thing: force. Brute force. They live by a code that might makes right. They have the might to take these girls and therefore what they are doing is right. Only someone with the fortitude to be stronger than them will get their attention. Where’s John Wayne when you need him? He wouldn’t put up with this shit.ReplyCancel

    • Cheryl - What was that old song that mentioned just that- where’s John Wayne when you need him?ReplyCancel

  • Claudia Schmidt - I agree that just posting about the Nigerian girls does nothing, it’s so frustrating to me that people think that somehow makes a difference. Very disturbing and very frustrating but this is a great post.ReplyCancel

    • Cheryl - Thank you Claudia. I am frustrated regularly.ReplyCancel

    • Cheryl - Thanks Claudia. It is frustrating.ReplyCancel

  • Diane Tolley - And I’m definitely reading it! Excellent post! Thank you!ReplyCancel

  • Sue Pekarek - I also noticed that nobody is talking about the high and driving behind the wheel…yet. I so agree on the get in and out and be done Nigerian situation! ReplyCancel

    • Cheryl - Yea- High & Drive. Where are the Mothers Against High Driving?ReplyCancel

  • Mari Collier - A fine rant. Alas, nothing will change. You will not believe how many years I have been reading about the mess in Africa. It never changes. Except for legalizing marijuana that now they discover the baked goodies can kill people. Oh joy, another implement of death. ReplyCancel

  • Anonymous - Well said, couldn’t agree more.ReplyCancel

  • Anonymous - OMG!!! Cheryl, you are a goddess! If I had not seen your name at the top, i would have sworn I wrote this!!
You are an inspiration! Can you run for office please!!! Every word here is truth! We sit on our hands here, ignore horrid things going on in Africa, and when media reveals……..oh, we are on it! Where the hell is Oprah with all her influence and money on this???? Where the hell is Blii Gates with all his “humanitarian” efforts and money?? You are right! these people only understand force, power, and a machete!!!! Somebody’s baby girl will suffer inhuman events because of the apathy of people in powerful places who could bring change.ReplyCancel

Once upon a time, in a land of culinary delights…     was a group of well-connected citizens that desired to provide a fallen despot with a safe house. It would be a peaceful place, without drama, but with groupies- he desired groupies. The mayor of the city offered his residence.Renovations were well underway when a courier arrived […]

  • donofalltrades - Learning to be happy with what you have is hard for a lot of people. I’m so proud of my mundane, middle class, struggling to pay the bills but my kids are beautiful and healthy so that’s all that matters life that I could puke. Oh, and my kids aren’t better than everyone else’s. My daughter never scores any goals in soccer, my 4 year old tole the wife yesterday that the Rock em Sock em robot game was “fuckin’ broke” and the youngest is just plain mean sometimes. But they’re cute, so that’s something.ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - It’s true- like irregardless. Not a word! If something is held in such low esteem to be without regard- then the prefix ‘ir’ is not needed. But you already knew that.ReplyCancel

  • Lois Alter Mark - OMG I am so with you! Awesome list!ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - This, my Dear, is but the tip of the iceburg, but it’s the Holidays and I thought I should be NICE- God I hate that word.ReplyCancel

  • One Funny Motha - Couldn’t agree more esp. about the spanx, stupid athletes & the Kardashians. Great photos btw.ReplyCancel

    • Cheryl - Thanks Motha! The problem w spanx is that what it’s holding has to go somewhere- and it’s usually worse. HahahaaaReplyCancel

  • Lillian Connelly - These are pretty funny. I just have to say that my kid is even MORE awesome…infinity.ReplyCancel

  • Quirky Chrissy - I care about some of these, but definitely not all! 50 Shades of Grey can kiss my butt.ReplyCancel

    • Cheryl - As well as other places. Like it’s a NEW story. Remember the film 9 1/2 Weeks?ReplyCancel

    • Cheryl - A mother’s unique love- which happens to be universal. And I hope you do Ann!ReplyCancel

And…. it’s up and running! Or not.Yes. It is. The President says so. He says if there is a problem it’s because there are sooooo many people trying to sign up. You know- like moths to a flame. That enticing. That many. That willing. Not only that, but the ages of those on board are young! Like under […]

  • Mark R Hunter - I heard a liberal bragging about how Republicans were signing up on the site.

    Um … duh. It’s a law — they’ve been told they have to.ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - Bragging? That’s a hoot. And as for Republicans/Democrats signing up- you’re right- it’s the law- kinda. Thanks for stopping by Mark. My Monday Madness posts are mostly visited by men- and women who have balls (you know what I mean).ReplyCancel

  • Mike Regione - I am sure the best and brightest have worked and are working on it as we speak. It isn’t like they would use 10 year old technology or anything. There has not been a brain drain from Washington so I am sure it is all right as rain (acid rain maybe). good post btw.ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - Thanks Mike! Our son is a brainiac code writer and he says they mostly kept this ‘in-house- among programers in DC. Seriously????? Glad you stopped by.ReplyCancel

  • Sue - Canada has judicial panels that decide when to pull your plug. Ring around the rosey, pocket full of posey, ashes, ashes, we all fall down.ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - Ben has a sister(and family) that live in Canada. When they have needed urgent care- like an operation, they are put on a waiting list, so… they come to USA and have surgery. I didn’t know about the Death Panels!ReplyCancel

* I am conducting a little experiment. On Monday’s I will be posting commentary on a Current Event of my choice by which I will proceed to rip someone a new poop hole. It may be fun. I might be sued. But I will always be entertaining.  So, welcome to… MONDAY MADNESS join the party! As we […]

  • Linda Roy - Word to the sentiment about Congress bowing to the special interest agenda. It’s sickening and has to change. Looking forward to your weekly poop hole rippin’s. 😉ReplyCancel

  • Sue - You should write a column for a national newspaper- please. I was telling hubby we need average Joe’s or Joan’s to run for the offices. People who do not want it for power and lives in the trenches. I want to throw them all out and install leaders with honesty, integrity, and common sense.ReplyCancel

  • Janie Emaus - I’m beginning to agree with you!ReplyCancel

  • Shannon Bradley-Colleary - I love that you’re attacking politics, but I am such an ostrich with my head in the sand that I couldn’t possibly comment intelligibly on this subject. However, should you do a thesis on Daniel Craig’s musculature I’m right there baby.ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - That would probably require hands- on research and the hubby might object. Then again, what he doesn’t know won’t ……ReplyCancel

  • William Kendall - You’ve got politicians on this side of the border who just love endless entitlements and view it as a career on easy street forever. It shouldn’t be.ReplyCancel

  • conniemcleod - Big money has corrupted the system. Until special interests and their $$ get out of the picture, nothing is going to change.ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - All ‘interests’ should be considered equally, with a limit as to how much swag a lobbyist can contribute. Influence should be level.ReplyCancel

  • Kristi Campbell - The whole political system is so screwed up it’s not even funny. Ugh.ReplyCancel

    • A Pleasant House - I really can’t think of an way to ‘un-screw’ it. Where are the NEW ideas? Or maybe we should just go back a few generations and take another look at those ethics? Ughhhhh- is right.ReplyCancel
